Different Viewpoints on the War on Gaza
Israel Perspective
Tel Aviv launched a series of deadly strikes on the impoverished Gaza Strip in some of the worst raids in 60 years of conflict after months of increasing tension and the breakdown of a six-month ceasefire between the Islamist Hamas movement and Israel.
Israel thinks that the war is aimed to get rid off Hamas, the terrorist group in Palestine. “Israel's military is in an "all-out war" with Hamas in the Gaza Strip,” Ehud Barak, the country's defense minister, has said. He added that the war has nothing to do with civilians and that Israel distinguishes (between) the war against terror, against Hamas members, from the civilian population.
Israel assures that it will stop the rockets and attacks by Palestinian fighters. They said that the operation will go until Hamas stops firing missiles into Israel. Israeli Foreign Minister, Tzipi Livni, rejected calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and said that as long as Hamas rules Gaza, prospects for peace are slim.
Hamas Perspective
Tel Aviv launched a series of deadly strikes on the impoverished Gaza Strip in some of the worst raids in 60 years of conflict after months of increasing tension and the breakdown of a six-month ceasefire between the Islamist Hamas movement and Israel.
As long as Israel keeps on being unfair on Gaza, Hamas will keep on doing what it's good at, keeping the war alive. Hamas thinks that for Israel to win the coming elections is by the invasion of Gaza. The armed wing of Hamas has said it will step up its rocket attacks on Israel if the Israeli military continues its deadly attack on Gaza Strip. Hamas leader, Khaled Meshaal, on Friday warned Israel that a "black destiny" awaits the Jewish state if it launches a ground offensive into the Gaza Strip. "Let Friday be a day of solidarity with our people in Gaza and a day of wrath against the Zionist occupation and its settlers," said Meshaal. "If you think that Hamas and al-Qassam will be crushed, we will rise up from the rubble," he added.
